I'm getting back on my feet...which means now people are asking me for money

An old friend messaged me tonight asking me for $100. She's homeless in Colorado. Her landlord increased her rent and she had to move out because she couldn't afford it. She lives in a tent and sleeps on a leaky air mattress.

She has parents who would be willing to help her but she refuses to go back to them. So she begs. 馃槗

I will send her the money, simply because I would hope someone would do the same for me.

She should look for a shelter, if she鈥檚 in the Denver area.

[@9416,Northwest] she's in Boulder

[@831314,DearAmbellina2113] Boulder has more homeless than its single shelter can handle. She may be able to draw on some of the university鈥檚 resources for help. I鈥檓 sure her situation is more complicated than just a rent raise. Good luck.

[@9416,Northwest] women鈥檚 shelters in Colorado are worse than being on the streets

You are very kind. Just curious, did she know you were in a better financial situation. Women homeless on the streets is rare.

There are women centers that may be available and probably are in Colorado. Losing an apartment would qualify for assistance but most will not allow substance abuse, unless in a program and daily testing.

I hope she really appreciates your generosity.馃槉馃尫
