I Like Stories
One of the creepier works of fiction I find would have to be a short story by "Harian Ellison" titled: "I have no mouth, but I must scream."
I discovered it years ago while looking up scary stories online, glad I did since it's one that still sticks with me even today.
In some ways, this could be a possibility if humanity ever put its entire trust into some computer AI that, when becoming too intelligent, could cause harm to the very life that created it.
I don't want to go into much detail, but if you haven't read it I definitely suggest it.
