First of all it's Spanish and Secondly even if you live in Silicon Valley there are already tons of people around you that can translate between Spanish and English, so maybe much further up the road you study Spanish but for now You should be studying Nihongo, because effectively almost no one in America can translate between Nihongo and English. and for the Slow: Nihon
