@assemblingaknob also - one thing I've read about garlic is: the taste becomes sweeter and more mellow the longer you cook it.
I happen to like the taste of garlic - I put it on toast 😆
So I always put my garlic in last (to a recipe) if I can.
There's no harm in adding more crushed up garlic at the end if it isnt enough 🤷♀️
