I Have An Ileostomy

I hope I'm not the only one here.

You're not. I have an ileostomy

@CarliG It's a life changing event, but worth it 😊. How are you coping with it all? Took me a little while to find an appliance system that worked for me.
CarliG · 22-25, F
@Bushranger with me wasn't so much an appliance, though I love what im using. The biggest thing was changing my bag (especially early on with a clear bag) and seeing my stoma

@CarliG Ugly little buggers, aren't they? Still dont like looking too closely at mine, lol. Have you had any problems with leaks or appluance failures?

@Bushranger LMAO. "Felix" I freaking love this as would have Teresa. Thanks for posting this.

@Bushranger admittedly i don't get the Felix reference, but mine is named Stella. I always carry extra bags, etc in my backpack along with tubie supplies and formula

@CarliG Felix the Cat was a cartoon character back in the day. He had a bag that always had what he needed to get out of trouble. The theme song had the lyric "Felux the cat that wonderful cat. Whenever he gets in a fix, he reaches into his bag of trucks..." whenever I've had problems with my stoma, I've used what's in my bag to fix things.

Love Stella though. Reminds me of A Street Car Named Desire."

An ileostomy is when your colon and rectum are removed and an opening is made in your side. A bag is attached to collect all your faeces. Sounds gross, but you learn to live with it.
