I Don't Discuss Politics

Not Much... I'll be honest, when it comes to politics, I tend to lean left. I just tend to agree with them on more issues, but definitely not everything. I don't talk politics because whenever I read an article, or watch the news, or just listen to people discussing politics... things tend to get ugly. When a person's politics are different than yours, suddenly it's okay to hate him for that, and to question his character. I don't judge people I politically disagree with. They are entitled to their own opinion, as I am entitled to mine. I just don't understand how people can be so closed-minded to their fellow man because of where he stands on the political spectrum. It saddens me greatly to read the comments on Yahoo articles... there's so much name calling and hate... It indeed makes me question how civil and upstanding people really are, that they can post such things when behind the veil of a computer. Would they say such things in public, out in the open, not in hiding?

I may be more of an optimist... or just plain apathetic, so I don't like to take these things such seriously. I'd much rather read a great book, or watch a wonderful movie, or cook an amazing meal than to worry about the divisiveness between Democrats and Republicans. Now, I don't advocate ignorance, but what I'm saying is I'd rather enjoy my life and the people in it than let petty political propensities interfere with my life. As it is, things are going good. I'll let them do what they do in the White House, vote for who I think will screw things up less, and let it be. Or bleed, depending on your view of the situation!
