I Don't Fit In

I rarely go into town. There really aren't any big cities close to where I live, so if I need to go into town for something it's a small town of like 3000 people or so. I live in the last house on a dead end road, miles from civilization. I love the solitude, peace and quite. I go to work, a 57 mile drive each way to a small garage out on a back road. The couple times a year I do make it into town it just feels so weird. I know I don't fit in there. I almost feel like I'm on another planet. I see all these people walking around with tattoos and piercings all over pink and green hair, stuck to their cell phones 24-7, just weird ass shit. I feel like I'm on another planet. And people wonder why I live in the boonies.....because I feel comfortable there.

That's how people that spent most of their lives in prison feel like, when they get out.
Also a more mild form of that is probably anxiety experienced by people that stay a week or 2 inclosed in their homes and when they get out, they experience that "I'm an alien on this planet, get me out of here!" feeling.
I'm from the country as well. I can relate how different things look and how rude others can be.
It always feels so good to go back home.
