What is the most significant experience you have ever had that helped change who you are and your world view ?

My University hosted some Tibetan monks who did a Mandela ceremony. I was part of the committee who kept them entertained, fed, etc. We went out to dinner with them and I had a mindblowing conversation with them over seeing the Snow Lion and reincarnation. I feel that reinforced my thoughts about my own spiritual path that day.

One of the most is when I was 14. A man blackmailed me for nudes, and I complied because I was scared and then stopped because I realized he couldn’t do what he threatened because he didn’t know my full name.
After that experience, I swore to myself I would never allow a man to penetrate me. I became immersed in sex and worked to become a dominant instead of submissive, which I succeeded at, because I never wanted a man to use me ever again. I became a VERY dominant dominant and spent my time enjoying heavy BDSM with guys (and girls).
I still have a relatively strong distaste and slight fear of cis men and am less attracted to them than other genders.
Thirty days in rehab with a group of 25 others - mostly 20-ish Hispanic kids.

I’ve never been a snob or a bigot - but that time taught me how alike we all are, and how sweetness and strength can grow in some pretty barren soil.

It’s an experience I would probably never have been able to duplicate. It was invaluable.

I also came out wondering what I was ever upset about.
As much as I hate it. Depression. It's hell but when I'm not depressed I swear i feel like I'm high on drugs. And I think that's bc of how low I can get.
