@Master5dad I was 8. We were spending the weekend on a houseboat on the lake. We had just arrived and my mom went inside to begin turning on lights, A/C, and unpacking. I wanted to swim off the dock while she was doing that so her friend who was spending the weekend with us supervised from above.
Apparently, there was a short somewhere in the lines and when she started something inside it sent the electric current out into the water. I initially just felt a tingling feeling but wasn’t truly shocked until I grabbed the ladder to clim out, as that grounded the current.
