What is the greatest struggle you’ve overcome?

Mine is Leukemia 😥
TheFragile · 46-50, M
I haven't had a drink in almost six years.
@TheFragile Congrats :)
Stage 3 Lymphedema. A broken humerus along with a shattered shoulder, left arm, and reverse shoulder replacement. I'm sorry you have had leukemia. I hope you are completely well now.
I beat an acute case of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) as a teenager. At one point my platelet count was <10,000 and they had a priest with my mom and dad. Of course I didn't have a clue....I just knew that I was bleeding everywhere and they couldn't seem to stop it.... like I would bleed heavily from the mouth if I dared to brush my teeth. Forget about picking boogers... it would take several hours and a lot of ice to stop the bleeding. If I sneezed … blood would pour out of my nose and sinuses.

Luckily, this visiting doctor who barely spoke English examined me and had seen a case of this back in the Slavic country he was from. They immediately removed my spleen and my platelet count quickly recovered.

I never knew his name but he saved my life so many years ago...

first, God bless you. I'm cheering for you and if you don't mind sending prayers. I watched my dealing with it and chemo.
I guess the chemo they gave me for hep C . I'm not comparing dosage but even the little I took for a year after six months I had to be careful not to sit down at work or I may not get back up. I rarely get sick but at the end of the year what might have normally been a cold became pneumonia . I felt fine all day then about 8 or 9 boom. That was a week in the hospital. Protect yourself.
@kentex35 Thank you thank you and prayers are always appreciated. Yeah chemo is not pleasant. Glad you are healthy now and sending you prayers back 🤗

Wow, that’s a biggie. Remission ?
@bijouxbroussard That was my inspiration actually 😇
@Awfullybrave I wish you the very best. That’s definitely something overcome.

I survived the loss of my husband and son, many years ago. I considered the day that I decided I was willing to go on living the day that I was on my way.
@bijouxbroussard hugs🤗 and I am sorry about your loss 😭

@Awfullybrave I love music. And people who love it.

It makes us more human.
@Platoscave same.. I also love a good sense of humour and people who don't take everything too seriously 🙄

look at the original "Fame"

It makes me cringe with the overt racism and crudeness at times around that.

But it was state of the art music film at the time.

Its great chatting with you!

Eddie Cochran was a great early HOT rocker. Try some. There was a country n western twinge but just a little of that is best for me.
