There are reasons from various scientific approaches that make this speculation to be from very improbable to impossible.
The difference between approaches discriminate between two conceptions of what is called "simulation".
- The one that´s enough to "make believe" but can´t "build" the simulated thing on itself.
- The one that pretends that the Universe itself with all it´s properties is a simulation: complete but made of information only.
Both had been proved wrong.
Else, is mere armchair philosophy.

It doesn't really matter, it's the only existence I'm concious of.

SW-User
Does it matter? do we matter
SimplyLogicalDiscipline · 36-40, F
@SW-User doesn't matter
PhoenixPhail · M
How would you know if it isn't?
It really stops mattering when the simulation becomes indistinguishable from reality. Because we are getting very close in this simulation to running simulations that are indistinguishable from reality so that means whoever is running this simulation is in all likelyhood a simulation themselves...excetera, excetera.

Even a simulation is an experience. And we couldn't experience anything, including a simulation, if we didn't exist. I think, and I feel, therefore I am.

@TeresaRudolph71 "Cogito, ergo sum" - Descartes.
What shows that even genius can be wrong. Antonio Damasio´s book about is a must.

It is and we control much of it with our own minds. We can have either a good day or bad day depending on how we think.

If it is I wish someone would recode me to be rich and socially graceful, lol
SimplyLogicalDiscipline · 36-40, F
@Zaphod42 you can code yourself to be graceful
