Cheaply made, and obviously defective

Anyone have experience with double action auto knives? Are the springs generally reliable? A couple days ago I bought a cheap double action, with no markings on it. The blade didn’t seem horrible but after testing the trigger up and down the springs failed. Im assuming more expensive ones are better made. Recommendations sub $100 ?
