I Got A Rectal Temperature Taken

@Briandl my mom stopped taking my temp rectally when I was around 7 or 8. Remember, this was the era when it was NORMAL for children to receive rt's and shots of Penesilin in the butt since that was the only medicine available at the time to fught infection.
I entered the hospital in 7th grade for a hernia repair and they took if there then, too.
Like spanking, RT's and butt shots were a NORMAL part of life so it as NORMAL that we incorporate these practices in our play.
My mom just accepted which ever practice the doctors offices used in taking temperatures. Most places refrained from taking temps rectally after a certain age unless the kid had a stuffy nose and couldn't breath through it, then they took it under the arm or rectally.
Please respond by providing me the answers to these questions plus mine: did you play doctor using these practices (butt shots and rt's?). Not knowing tour age, I wouldn't be abke to tell in which era you grew up.
Kids in my day did role play that immigrated what we saw, heard and experienced in life.

@SW-User I do remember one but of was very young and don't remember details except to say I was on my side when she did it and co also remember how great the warm water felt inside me and how much pleasure received from having the bulb inserted in me.
