Then there's Secrets of Great British Castles. It's a historical documentary, though. Lots of facts and wars and beheadings, as well as stacks of medieval costumes and a little fantasy.

The Crown seems pretty realistic. Does take an episode or two to get used to the accents though. Even for modern day English people.

@Elegy I tried Versailles when it first came out. Typically it's something I should love but I just couldn't invest in the characters for some reason. May have to give it another go

@SansaDeLaRue There are a ton of these types of shows like the medicis etc. If you don't like one move on to the next.
