I Have a Dysfunctional Family

Can't believe they wouldn't support me when grandpa was dying and they won't support me now. Even after he is gone.

What can one expect from those who would accuse someone of stealing even after they stood by and watched someone they live so dearly take their last breaths?

So disappointed but resolute to wash my hands of them. Forgiveness is divine but why should these people deserve my forgiveness in all the ways they've abandoned, neglected , and accused?

I understand washing your hands of them, i would too if i were in your situation, as far as forgiveness goes; THAT you do for YOU, so that youre not carring a resentment or holding a grudge that steals your joy and poisons your heart, my Grandfather used to say: "holding on to anger is like drinking poison and expecting the OTHER PERSON to die. It doesnt mean you have to have them in your life, just means you say: i accept that your evil, selfish and cruel, and your behavior toward me was just YOU being true to YOUR NATURE, so i forgive you, but dont want you in my life because i dont deserve to be treated that way"....cant be mad at a pet lion for eating you...it what lions do....♡

people get really emotional when someone dies. they can say almost unforgivable things. if they truly think it was stolen then they can report it to the police. likely though, you're a convenient scapegoat at the moment because of their misplaced hurt and anger, and they'll grow to regret their words. just try to forgive them for your own sake. :) it would honor your grandfather.
