Paint the world another shade.
A sadder hue across my glade.
A trail of tears. Across the years.
A sinking soul. A heart betrayed.

Paint the sky, and make it black.
Blot the sun and send it back.
Bring the rain and bring the rack
Call the lightning and watch me crack

See me sinking into my past
Drowning in this lost repast
Watch me falter and break like glass
Shattered by these thoughts that last
