I Hate When People Judge Teen Moms

If I'm anyone to go by, as a teenager I wasn't too bright about things, I got mixed up with a wrong crowd and it's a wonder I never ended up a teen Mum.

Unforeseen circumstances befall us all, and judging a young girl who has ended up pregnant and then a Mum because she believed a guy who didn't take his responsibilities seriously just like her is grossly one sided and unfair.

There are challenges to our populations which are likely to cause a spike in young pregnancies, and possibly even back street abortions now, because of the movement of peoples and the change in perspectives.

Well. She picked the unresponsible guy. But i take your point. I would have been a father at 17, had my gf not gotten an abortion. Hormones and inexperience make it pretty easy to have a baby in the teens. However, it still reflects poorly on the teen's rational resources. It's a stupid decision. Even as dumbass, drug addict 17 [me] and 18 [her] year olds, my gf and I both knew we were too young, rationally. Of course, she had a baby at 19. Bet she regrets that, now.

Though, as with crimes, I would blame the parents, first and foremost. My parents never prepared me at all for puberty. Didn't tell me a thing. One class in 5th grade, was all I had, and that faded pretty fast. Then they expected me to never have sex, rather than teaching and encouraging me to be safe. Teens are just going to fuck. It's gonna happen. So they should be taught to be safe, rather than trying to stop nature.

Even 18-20 year olds are kids, though, imo. Its the parents job to prepare their kid for the world. Teens having kids just shows they failed as parents, and taught their kids how to fail as parents.

Well said and its actually all the judging that's making the illegal abortions and lives harder for the girls

And the guy gets let off easy - he impregnated her and refused to take responsibility, how is it then her fault solely?

@SW-User Except for the mandatory child support he has to pay, lest ye get jail time, for a child he doesn't want.

I would never judge a teen for becoming a mom.
What do you think of the TV shows, like teen moms and mom at 13, and such?? My little grand daughter records every one of them. They make teen motherhood out to be glamorous.
As you probably know single teen moms have it rough, they miss out on a big part of their life, they have to do anything they can to support the kid, and everyone looks down on them and gives them shit..
I admire young girls that realize they may have made one mistake in life, but they persevere and do well for themselves and for their kids !!

@Gentlemickey it is the fault of their parents

i blame their parents for not teaching them about these things in time
