I Think That Even Small Gestures Are Significant

Today I was sitting alone at a table and a girl I did not know approached me and asked if I would like to join her at her table. I appreciate these small acts of kindness, they are not often anymore. This small thing made my day and gave me hope. You never know what someone is going through so be kind. You are beautiful, strong, and amazing. Don't let anyone tell you different and don't let anyone take your smile!

It is true, those very gestures are a rare occurrence nowaday, and the ones I've received quite unexpectedly have remained in memory for years. They renew our hope in human nature and often arrive as we need them most.
A particular incidence occurring while visiting Chicago for the first time years ago, and finding I was lower on funds than expected and receiving consideration from a young man who noticed my predicament.

@SDesert33: I was very impressed and surprised at another individual of my age--a high schooler at the time-- being so perceptive and thoughtful. I'd asked about the price of a drink at a theatre and found it exceeding my stipend for the day, when he came over from the concession with a large glass moments later saying they had some left over.
