I Wish I Could Leave The Past In The Past And Not Look Back

Isn't it upsetting knowing that things will never be the way they are again? Those shared experiences and memories connects us all, but now you have to leave them behind... It hurts when you realize things will never be the same again. You can't hear their voices again on a daily basis. You can't see them smile or laugh again. You can't feel their presence again. I know life goes on, but sometimes the truth hurts... It doesn't even matter if you call them again or see them for a few seconds. Things will never be the way they are. You never know the true value of a moment when it becomes a memory.

Very true. To reflect is to regret, throwimg it all away. Once the moment has died, it's best to let it die gracefully, imo.

I say that, but I understand the intrinsic pull it has. I still use lucid dreams to repeat past memories. But. In that sense. They may be gone, but they're still a part of you.

At least you have the beautiful memory. Don't make it a sad one with regret. Make it a happy one celebrating the fact you had the experience.

And that true value of the moment becoming happy memories is why things can never be the same... because one continues to make each successive moment a new and unique memory for the rest of their life..
