I Am a Grandmother

When I was extra blessed and promoted to Grandmother in the Spring of 2017 I thought I'd refer to myself as Grammy. :D Just like I called my beloved Gram, Grammy however between Kaleb learning to talk and his parental units lack of caring my preference I am called Mimi. I wasn't too fond of the switcheroo but now that my baby boy says it in his super excited voice as soon as he sees me and runs to me making it clear I'm a favorite lol I don't care what he calls me. :)

I have been told recently by other new grandparents there choice of name of endearment for grandmother or grandfather seldom makes it so PSA you might have wanted to be a Nana Karen but you're someone's Mammaw. 😂 And in my case I'm a Mimi and proud to be. :)

It's a privilege to be called special names by your grandson. I bet you are the only Mimi in this world so be proud of it. ;)

Before I could say grandfather to my mother's father, I simply called him Daddy Harry (Harry was the short form of his first name). That I also called him Daddy like my own Dad led to some misunderstandings at the beginning with neighbours and friends who didn't know the family relations of us so well ;) ;)
