Not really big on rap anymore. Why do the vast majority of rappers glorify sex, drugs, and violence?

Poll - Total Votes: 23
To increase their fan base.
Because it's the life that they condone.
They'll rap about anything just to get famous.
They sold their souls to the devil.

it was the same with heavy metal, all pretending to be form poor fmailies and worshippin gthe devil all crap we know they are all middle class kids, as are the rappers
Sorry, but it's noise. Hate to stereotype, but it tells you a lot about the person who listens to these type of music.
I don't think they do anymore. Most glorify being spoilt, rich and dancing in nightclubs.

Too much rap is about the glorification of violence, sexism and everything temporary. Still, there's some really good stuff out there. I won't call it "music to my ear," but it's a legitimate art form...when it's used legitimately. But then, you could argue that Taylor Swift is an awful use of pop music...

Well it's the background many of them have come from. It's also their brand, their image. What their listeners have come to expect.

I like it theres good stuff
I like old school rap, when it was a revolutionary art form and that WASN'T all that it was about. I'm not crazy about the newer stuff, post 1992. "Gangsta rap" was the beginning of the end.
