Have you ever wished you could just walk away

Just had the ability to just pick up and go somewhere totally new, and try to start over?

Yes, any time I visit somewhere new, I try to imagine how I'd fit in there. American expat living in paradise? - I wondered as I rode a bus to the beach on some island in the Bahamas. Driving a truck and living in a little mountain cottage. -As I drove through rural Alabama and Tennessee. Funny thing is, I never really see myself fitting in. I usually end up the same loner with a house full of books in every place I imagine, lol.

Awesome, where's the most unlikely place you've imagined running away to?

@76starships: Ireland, Italy, Russia lol

Ooh, Russia. Me too.

Look around your house at all the things you have acquired, it takes many years and a lot of hard work to afford them all. Do you really want to abandon them all and start over, what would be the advantage in that?

If you don't like where you live, put all those things into boxes and take them with you, but don't abandon what you have, build on it.

Having said that, it is also OK to take a break for a while, save up some money, tell your boss you need 6 months off, and go live on a deserted island for a while, see how you feel after that.

All the time. It's the wanderlust that calls our names.

We'll when you've gone through a divorce, all your things are in storage, you live with someone that doesn't appreciate you and you're not happy with, and your children don't live close there really isn't anything making you want to stay.

Every single day. when I'm in work and something happens to me I just feel to walk out of the door. But I quickly come back to reality. Sometimes I'm on the platform of the train and I think about the last stop on and just continuing on etc.

Already done, while most are fighting back home who voted whom. I'm out, I'm happy, none were my favorite, so I never cared who wins. Let's see how it goes, but the reason why I moved is not just political, but several things causing a cumulative result.

At times, yes. Though I am going it alone, I like to be near my family so I can help them when needed.
MsAmazon46-50, F
Understand that, and it's awesome that you're there for them

Maybe, but what if things didn't work out and you wish you could go back where you came from but you can't? Then what?
Syktur26-30, M
Yes, and I think everyone has or will at some point. I'm glad I came across this post.

Not really, a lot of times I just wish to stay where I am and enjoy the comfort of not being bothered by anyone.

I fantasize about moving to a small town, or maybe down the shore, or maybe out to LA, but I have so many irons in the fire over here...family, friends, musical allies, etc., that it would be like reformatting the hard drive of my life.
