Who to sell to?

Selling my old bike. Person 1 sends an email reply to my ad, and then we agree on a price and I ask when they'd like to pick it up. No response. Then person 2 emails me, agrees on price and schedules to pick it up on Tuesday morning. Then, Person 1 finally responds (a whole day later) asking to pick it up tomorrow. Who do I sell to? And what do I tell the other person?

Go with person 1 and if they don't show, sell to person 2.

[@595086,somedude15] You tell person 2, hey I made a mistake. I was in touch with a person before you, but they didn't immediately respond to me, so I thought they lost interest. They have since gotten back to me, so I need to apologize about that, I may not be able to sell to you. Since that person responded to me first, I still feel obligated to sell to them first. If the person doesn't show up however, then I will sell to you.

The first person that shows up with cash.

Tell them, the one who picks up faster...its theirs. I guess then its their want/need of the bike will decide the situation....not you.

First come first served. Its everywhere like that

Actually you should have given #1 more time to reply, regardless. (Reasonable amount of time)

But At this stage #2 gets it.

My excuse to #1 would be you didn't reply back, so you sold it.
You'll might have to just have to face the backlash/ anger from him.

[@1150425,eyeno] yeah I wanted to but was also worried about not getting it sold in time (need to get it sold before Friday).

[@595086,somedude15] well ,live and learn and on his end he'll have learnt a lesson too. If your going to buy then finish/ close the transactions.
