What is making rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide such popular horder items?

I used to suture years ago in an ER. Our protocol included saline, Betadine and sometimes hydrogen peroxide. Things have changed.

@quitwhendone yes they have changed a lot. New training seems to drop every week. I trained in the military and now mostly work with animals on my farm while my wife is an RN with a bsn going for nurse practitioner.

@crystalkid I did my weekly shopping today and picked up some Clorox wipes for my sister because was out, but noticed they were out of those two items still had clorox though so I thought it was weird.

At my local store, the Clorox products were wiped out as fast the toilet paper(odd enough thing to hoard as is). Hand sanitizer went fast too. Then shoppers moved on to the alcohol and peroxide. @Arorin

@crystalkid my community has really stepped up and shamed a lot of horders in the area. One guy has an entire garage full of bottled water. I have well water so I have no reason to take the bottled stuff.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow can use a tampon too in a bind.

@SW-User I haven't heard anyone say what to buy. I'm not surprised bread and canned goods are gone, but I don't see any reason to have mass quantities of those other items.

@Arorin Govt is telling over 60% alcohol content based hand sanitizer I bought 3 for a colleague n next day even that store had none to sell

@SW-User washing hands throughly with good soap and water is a better thing, but I suppose if that isn't an option the hand sanitizer is better than nothing.

@ProThrall for what? There are better cleaners for that.
