Healing the sick and preventing the spread of illness are two sides of the same coin.

If people can pray homosexuality away, why can't they pray a virus away?
Is the teeny tiny virus more powerful than their omnipresent and omniscient deity? That's strange.

Do you know any that have healed anybody?

@MrsCurious I hate that mentality so much. Lol Cause I went through something a few years ago and begged God for help. I was even suprised at the amount of faith I had. The Bible said I only needed a little after all. But nothing happened to fix things. So that is like saying I didn't have enough faith. Or mine wasn't good enough. Which only made me feel even worse. So I see the whole just have faith thing as bunk. It is almost like some kind of money system. Save up your faith and cash it in for stuff:/
That isn't to say I have anything against people that it works for. But it just made me worse.

@canusernamebemyusername I went through the whole stupid 'have I got faith' dilemma before too. It's up to us to just do what we can; faith in God helps but He doesn't fix everything in this life. I'm not putting anyone down but we can't fix everything either; we can only do our best, pray for God's help, hope for the best and try to muddle through whatever happens.

That’s why we have to remain faithful and don’t call on him when we need him that’s why it’s says to trust in God in all times the good and the bad @purplepen

It doesn’t replace hospitals and doctors. Historically religious people have died from all the other pandemics: plague, smallpox, tuberculosis, rubella, polio, etc.
The churches aren’t taking any chances. People want to go heaven—just not right now. 😳

@bijouxbroussard True. We've got stuff to do here first.

The churches are organizations that try to keep the laws of the land. Most of them also try to use common sense.
However, I think it's a good opportunity to preach and show love. Maybe some preaching about faith is in order, but not enough to put heavies on people who are already doing their best.
Sickness and disease are part of life. Some would say I have little faith, but too bad.

I find it great they have common sense.

Belief in God doesn't mean they're stupid.

Religion doesn't (at least ideally) remove all rationality and practicality. Only groups like Christian Scientists think that all medical advice is bogus. They are taking practical measures like everyone else.

Doesn't mean you can't pray privately; and a church building is only a focal point for worship.
No the church does not "heal" the sick, but it may give psychological comfort to them; and of course when someone recovers they are very likely to say it was all due to prayer!
Where is this by the way? The Church of England has announced it is suspending regular services but leaving the buildings open, presumably for anyone wanting to meditate and pray there alone, without risking being in a congregation.

It's explained in the Bible.

Where can you tell me I would like to read this ? Not being funny I’m seriously curious @curiosi

@MrsCurious It's journey, the prophets will tell the story.

@MrsCurious Each has been given a measure of faith and it is up to us to grow that faith. The more faith the more we are able to do things. Jesus said "You will do these things and more". We have to build our faith first.

Religion is one's way of telling u how to live your life.

And aren’t they supposed to be happy to pass so that they can be with the Lord? Confusing indeed.
