I hate apartment living

People in Montana, should all have house with land. My relatives do but for now I am stuck in tiny apartment, in the “big” city (insert sarcasm) What do you think of apartments?

Pros: Unless you live on the ground floor, you can leave your windows open when you are away. You can save a lot on heating. Tidying up is easier. Houses tend to be lots of work, while in apartment you don't have to deal with stuff like fixing the roof, plumbing, taking care of the garden...

Cons: You can't chill in the garden. You have no outdoor place just for yourself. Growing plants and vegetables would be impossible or very difficult. (Some people actually grow tomatoes in a pot. 🧐) Obviously, you can't grow your own trees or have an orchard. You can feel like you don't have enough space to move around freely. You hear your neighbours arguing and they can hear you. You don't know who to complain to when someone is smoking in the building and the smoke fills your apartment. Your neighbour from the apartment above can flood your apartment. Sometimes you can smell what are your neighbours cooking or that they burnt their meal. 😬

Honestly, I think the best option would be an apartment with a small sunny terrace for me. A balcony is not enough.

Love the convenience and low maintenance. I was an apartment dweller in Aust/NZ before it was trendy.

I have lived in many apartments but after the last experience I had living in one over 2 years ago I won't ever do it again. The manager refused to renew my lease because I contacted the corporate office on several occasions about how the apartment wasn't even ready on the day I was supposed to pick up my keys and move in, plus they took their sweet as time fixing things and I guess he didn't like me going over his head. I was never late on my rent the whole time I lived there. Me and him got into a shouting match the day I confronted him about the letter I got in the mail that I needed to be out before the end of the month. I probably could have pursued the matter but I chose to just leave and move on.

It's meant to be a temporary thing. I don't like being cramped like a sardine. I don't think we're meant to live this close to other people.

I live in one, dunno if I want a house for me alone.
Maybe a 2 bed flat with garden
At least u do not have to pay for the upkeep in an apt, or pay land taxes.

I also enjoyed overhearing neighbours having sex, though it was sometimes gay sex which didn't do much for me.

Yes, in UK better to share a rent house. It's spacious n more privacy from neighbours.

I live in one. I hate it. Too many people .
I love mine. The building was originally an Edwardian house built circa 1915. It was converted into apartments during WWII.

Condos and shared wall homes baffle.me the most. You mean I own this but its in a building I don't? I share this wall with someone? This makes no sense.
