Do you stick to the recommended allocation of alcoholic units ?

men and women are advised not to drink more than 14 units a week on a regular basis

... and how much is a unit?
Scarfface · 46-50, M
@helenS a unit is a measure of alcohol
helenS · 36-40, F
@Scarfface Oh really! 😐️

Wow. I am at zero units per week...maybe I should go buy some units...😂
Scarfface · 46-50, M
@4meAndyou you can get other stuff other than units of alcohol, I reckon you're owed a lot
4meAndyou · F
@Scarfface Well, I don't feel like any alcohol units are "owed" or units of anything else...but thank you. 😊

Nope, I far exceeded it 😖 That's why I stopped.

Depends on how big of a unit.
I’m curious to know how a “unit” is calculated. I don’t drink more than about 2-4 ozs of bourbon (over ice) once a week, if that. But I know people who drink more at a time, more often.

Strength (ABV) x volume (ml) ÷ 1,000 = units
@Scarfface I don’t know anyone who takes the time to measure in such increments, tbh. They generally check calories, alcohol and sugar content.

@bijouxbroussard I look at units, it is a better way to judge how drunk you'll get.
