I just watched a documentary about this. Apparently some of the worst cities are:
St. Louis MO
Chicago IL
Miami FL
Detroit MI
Philadelphia PA
Baltimore MD

@kablan Sr Louis is all right to visit, I don’t think you really get the full experience as a tourist.
That said, there isn’t all that much to do there. I drove through and spent the night on a road trip once. Nothing bad to say about my experience, but nothing is calling me back either.

I don’t think anyone will argue with you that Detroit is worse than NYC.

@QuixoticSoul when I visited my sister I seen 8 and 9 mile roads, looks like dumpster,a real trash pit,

NYC looked pretty dirty when I went, and people were miserable seemingly without cause.

Cleveland is rough at times.

Baltimore is perfectly fine if you stick to the square mile or two (total) of tourist areas. In broad daylight only. With a group of friends/family consisting of at least 1 buff guy. Oh, and don't forget your tazer.

New York is not nearly as bad as it use to be. But Chicago, and Detroit are two cities I do not care to live. 🙂
