Or, you could do everything in your power to live fully and mentally set yourself up for receiving positivity and then if you have truly done your best how can you regret anything? Life is finite dont waste it.

To survive a fascist dictatorship in my country and resist it.
To loose good dear friends because.
To learn how to make grow a long distance relationship in my sixties, driving 420 miles (and back) each weekend to see her.
To discover that love is not always enough when she left.
To live, work, smile and grow older in what was not my choice.
Is even hard to make this list.

Becoming sanctimonious on one hand or making yourself a martyr on the other is only a danger for those that can't find the illusions of self righteousness on the former or the imperfections of their connection to their faults in the latter.
