Do you have rules for guests?

Pretty simple. Do not enter the premises unless you're family. If you're family, I'll put up with your shit so long as you put up with mine.

Be kind to my dog, I love her, I will tolerate you. She doesn't go to another room as she is family. You don't like it, don't come over.

Simple: All visitors are unpermitted.

If the guests are kids obviously have rules, not so much for adults but we would ask them to leave if not being appropriate but that's not come up.

The main one is no smoking in the house and we don't keep or really want alcohol in the house either. Otherwise we are pretty laid back and want someone to feel comfortable and at ease while visiting...we just require that our things are respected and that people don't just bother or get something with out our knowledge and/or permission.

Come in, make yourself at home.

No shoes on carpet
No smoking
No swearing

No shoes past the entrance hall. No smoking. respect the house, yourself and those around you. Those things shouldn't be too hard for anyone
