Why is the LBGT community so upset about a straight pride parade?

Straight people have a right to celebrate heterosexuality. They're not hurting anyone by having a parade.
SW-User
Because the organizers behind it are far right extremists who have been vocal about their distaste for gays.

Why do we need a straight pride parade? Men and women have been accepted as couples & getting it on since the beginning of mankind. Lol.

@ISpeakTheTruth Only for you big boy.
SW-User
@Pherick I didn't see that comment of his. Very loathsome.
Bastard · 26-30, M
@ISpeakTheTruth Lol, it's usually the straight people that force their beliefs onto us. We're just trying to live our lives freely, but we get attacked verbally and physically and get many threats that we're going to hell. Parents put their children out on the street and in conversion therapy.
Pherick · 41-45, M
Then why haven't they had one before the LBGT parades?

@ISpeakTheTruth Mostly because it has nothing to do with pride, but being a shit human being.
In fact, as a number of media outlets have already begun to point out, the parade is not about promoting straightness but about promoting traditional notions of white masculinity and the restoration of a white settler ethnostate. We know this from a brief glance at the bios of the organizers—John Hugo, Mark Sahady, and Chris Bartley—who have previously been affiliated with groups and events that promoted and ignited physical violence, such as “Resist Marxism,” a group that has explicitly promoted anti-semitic, misogynist and anti-LGBTQ views, and the “Patriot Prayer Rally” which took place in Portland last year, and ended in physically violent confrontations between Proud Boys and anti-fascist protesters. Last year, Resist Marxism held a similar rally in Boston and was led by Kyle Chapman, who became renowned in alt-right circles for smashing a wooden post over an anti-fascist protester’s head at Berkeley the year prior.
I wish the LGBT was more positive and supportive of people who aren't members of it.

@SW-User It's spreading hate when you're on the receiving end of someone who is trying to stop you from being yourself. Do you not have any ability to understand their side? Maybe they can't see how they're being hypocritical, but they still feel the same kind of hurt when people don't allow them any freedom to express themselves. This doesn't make "giving them a taste of their own medicine" the right thing to do. At least I don't think so. In my eyes that makes you the same as them. A cause for conflict.
SW-User
@Reject Oh my god, the lgbt community is trying to stop homophobic people from expressing their homophobia in large groups... That makes them so negative and narrow minded. That’s your logic.

Gay people have nothing against straight folks. The other way around seems to be happening though, so much for being “tolerant”.
But anyway, you’re calling out the LGBT for being negative. are you going to call out those who participate in straight prides as well... ? ;)
I mean obviously they’re showing negativeness and intolerance, aren’t they ?
Reject · 26-30, M
@SW-User It's the way the LGBT is trying to stop it that I disagree with. The ends don't justify the means. Some gay people absolutely have a problem with straight folk who don't respect them enough. I've seen a lot of that here. Yes, you're both equally awful in your negativity to me. Don't worry. I don't have any partiality or bias here. Anyone who has intolerance is in the wrong. That includes the straight pride parade you despise so much.
SW-User
I think its been tied to white pride groups. The whole thing sounds bad.
HannahSky · F
There's no need for it. Straight people have never had to hide or be discriminated against because of being straight.
It's being associated with white pride aka white nationalist groups.
HannahSky · F
@xRedx Answer my question about Milo.
I have no say in the parade. I just don't see straight people needing it for the reasons I said.
xRedx · M
@HannahSky Well you tell me, what's his agenda? If a openly gay man approves of this so much, I don't see why they are getting nothing but hate from the people supporting the pride parade.

Who are you to say they don't need or want one? You're no one. If they want to throw a parade to celebrate their sexual orientation, all the power to them.
HannahSky · F
@xRedx Milo is into neo-Nazi and white nationalism.
You seem to want to say I'm nobody, but I still don't get why you care so much about this straight pride parade. Are you a straight activist or something?
JarJarBoom · 41-45, F
I think its just the mockery of the occasion that makes them upset
Soxs45 ·
In all fairness I have a problem with all parades and celebration of anyone's identity for any reason.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
It makes them feel less special and as if they are being mocked.

@RamessesII thats true..
Semya · 22-25, M
Theres no need for it. No ones being criminalized for being straight, no one gets arrested or executed for being straight.

We only have one month out the year and some straight people want to make it about them
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
Because something makes them feel like they should be upset about it. They constantly have a "we against them" attitude and whenever straight people make a move its therefore regarded as hostile.
popmol · 22-25, M
they are both stupid :p
xRedx · M
Exactly. If they can celebrate their sexuality when can't we?
SW-User
@xRedx you celebrate it every day.
xRedx · M
@SW-User you don't know that. Don't assume whether I celebrate or not
Bastard · 26-30, M
@xRedx Straight people should do the same. I'm tired of seeing straight couples kiss and hold hands in public. I'm tired of seeing them on TV too.
Cantsayno · 56-60, M
Because the LBGT has parades to be themselves and accepted. They’re marching for equal rights.
Straight people (including me) don’t need that. We already have the rights they’re fighting for.
Just my opinion.
SW-User
So i dont got to gay pride parades. I think its lost its meaning.. plus im a ts who dates woman. I really dont fit anyplace. Im just me.
No. But you said you want to eradicate them. That sounds like you are wanting to hurt someone.
