Is humanity moving forwards or backwards?

Are you more disappointed or more proud of:
Our standards, our current problems, our current attitudes and beliefs?

If so, what do you think of the future?

I like to think forward and in some ways we are.. but in some things, manners, respect, compassion.. we seem to be moving backwards..

Look up on the Infant Mortality Rate - World Health Organization

To test if a country indeed takes care of it's Mother and Child. The test the IMR - how many children live upto 1 year of age of live birth.

These rates are high where the country does not take care of women and children, the county that provides western medicine to it's mothers, tends to have lower mortality rates.

Many bag "western civilization" now, yet these pesky western value, reflect with mothers and babies. They have much lower child death rates, Africa and some sub Sarah Arab nations, don't look after their mothers.

You can bag the west, yet our lower birth death rates are lower, because of Western Medicine. Polio still exits in parts of Africa, so bag vacancies.

We have improved life, less people starve as they did 200 years back.
Many live beyond 50 years, 200 years ago, they did not.

We just have now, those that wine and act as a victim, they have nothing to complain. If they lived over 200 years ago, then yes, they would indeed have something to bitch about.

We are lucky to live now.........in 2019

@SoFine that's a pretty faulty ground for that stance in my opinion

The West is moving backward as the East is moving forward.
Keep watching. Ten years from now we'll all be working for Korean or Chinese or Indian companies.
Their stars are on the rise as ours are waning.

Definitely forwards. However, we have more foresight now I think, and a better vision of where we want to be as a race, so it frustrates us when we don’t develop and evolve as expediently as we desire.

We want to be this conscientious spacefaring race, but are stuck on a rock where a lot of people haven’t outgrown barbaric outdated traditions and beliefs which hold us back.

I believe we’ll get there, just not as soon as we want.

I think it progresses and regresses with a major trend of progress. We’ll be fine.

If you consider the 20th century was the bloodiest ever with 2 world wars and a boatload of conflict. We have pushed forward technologically but we use some of it rather stupidly and the number of people with higher degrees is rising(sometimes a mixed blessing)I guess we're holdin our own in this post fact age
It's always moving forward. Nothing is easy with actual progression, there's always problems or "growing pains" to overcome.
It may feel like we've plateaued but the fact is no matter how slow or painful it seems It's always progressing.

Forwards in a broad sense, backwards looking at the last couple years. The trend is already reversing though.

Speaking of western society.
Honestly, I am not sure. We have made many strides in helping those in poverty. But still there is so much violence....
[c=#359E00]sure technological is getting more and more advance but other than that we are moving baaaackward[/c]
Backwards at an alarming rate
Humanity? Whose to say? Western Civilization? Nuh-uh
