How important are comfortable shoes?

Extremely. Having a bad fitting shoe just sucks and ruins the day.

I will never forget having a pair of boots that didn't fit quite right on one of my deployments. Working 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week on an aircraft carrier with sore feet sucked.

I used to like wearing heels. I still do. Adds to a woman's confidence. But these days I tend to wear flats or short inch sandals because of transportation reasons
