When you look at someone who is hugely successful, do you think of him or her as a lucky person?

Who was in the right place at the right time?

I think it’s a combination of luck and action. When a door opens for someone, they still have to walk through it. In my family, I wear the “lucky” tag, because I’ve had a lot of things break my way career wise and financially over the years. They talk about it as though I didn’t spend years in college getting two degrees and then putting in the time to learn my craft so that I could leverage it when doors opened for me. I’ve always been considered the lucky one as if my efforts and choices had nothing to do with it.

No the people who wait for the right place right time never do shit with their life. If you want to be successful you have to start with long term baby steps until you can take bigger and bigger steps until you get to where you want to be

In many/most cases, "luck" stems mostly from being prepared for opportunities and acting at the right moment.

often, fortune DOES have a big effect

many smart men die broke
some lucky ones get it handed to them

I did believe that for a long time. I am coming around to a different realization now.
