Apparently “stay at home son” is not a valid occupation

LoL honestly I feel bad about the whole kicking your kid out at 18 thing. Is 18 some magic number we hit and suddenly we don't deserve family? Why do we have to separate? And what's so great about working your ass off for a couple bucks to die???

@Stark it's impossible to say what is right for one person is right for everyone. And younger adults get treated they're idiots in an adult world but they're just not ready to give up their lives to slavery, ahem, I mean society. We never let them be young. We should push for independence without robbing kids of their choice. This has always bothered me. The expectations are impossible and usually the ones that meet them are giving up happiness to stress themselves for something they won't even enjoy in four years.
@StokedFox Exactly, honestly young adults really experience a lot of stress when it comes to expectations and constantly feeling like you’re behind when you really should just be living in the moment and actually acknowledging how young you are. It’s total shit.

@Stark YES! Like first you're taught to feel inadequate and worthless unless you do this, this and this, then you spend the rest of your life trying to heal and find self worth! Makes no sense. If my son was helping contribute, he could stay with me as long as he wanted/needed. That's what I do, I brought him into this. Funny part is even as little as he is, the more I support him, the more independent he grows :)

I swear even gap years aren’t acceptable

@SW-User sad but kinda true! Things are in a mess but not only one generation is to be blamed!
SW-User
@SW-User Yes I accept it that one thing wrong with my generation is that most of us don’t want to work hard; because we’re used to getting everything instantly
SW-User
@SW-User I can understand that.

True... I’d tell him to get his Raggedy Ass outta bed and get a job..
SW-User
@Supesun yup and even better.. raise him to know that’s what responsible adults do... 😊

Do what you can get away with for as long as you can. Resist assimilation into the Borg! 🙂
