Has discrimination towards age always been a thing or is it something new in the last 50 years?

I do thinks it's new. Elderly people used to be held in high regard and rewarded with support by loved ones. Now a days the elderly are cast aside and left to fend for themselves and it's awful

I think it's just a continuous trial. Myself, I'm a Senior, but I don't think I have ever been discriminated.

@Carla1951 maybe it was just subtle enough you didn’t notice it.

New since the age of the 'Super conglomerate'.
That and the setting of a minimum wage set too low.

I'm 66, yet I haven't noticed.

Carla still wants to 'fit in' And other than a few neighbors, I have zero friends. Not a soul to even wish me a good morning.
That is why I come here to S.W. Even more to try and find another hub.
Change is painful. But nothing as painful as being somewhere you don't belong.

Like any discrimination it's always been there, it's only recently been identified.

Goes back to the 70’s.

Agesim is bull. It's just a fact that young ones are too stupid and inexperienced and that old people are weaker and frailer.

So yeah, Teenagers really don't have much to say that's worth taking too seriously or do they often possess any useful skills. At the same time the average 78yo can't lift much more than 10 pounds, can't hear shit, and has that trick knee and hip.
