Is revenge justice?

Loretta78 · 46-50, F
In a similar sense - yes.
But this kind of "revenge" has always to be done at a court which is searching in the LAWS for an adequate punishment ("revenge"). That's justice.

But revenge never should be done as a self-justice. This is a really revenge and cannot be accepted in our society.

If it is perfect sure. However, with every revenge there is a non-intended loss then that person wants revenge and another unintended loss and so on and so on.... That is why most modern moralist abhor it

@lakergoy I think you're actually carelessly mindless here, sorry. You really told someone who had someone in their family murdered, I should feel a certain way about justice. When in reality I only pointed out a differing point of view. Then you went to how using the right of the first amendment, I pointed out a counter point of view in law not even implicating. So, we can continue this up if you want....

I said it was my opinion is all. You took that as preaching, which i get. I do believe in harsher penalties if the evidence is obvious and overwhelming. The first amendment i was trying to relate to is freedom of speech. Or in today's overly PC society should be called the right to believe as you choose which i believe in. You can see it how you wish especially considering your loss. I'm sorry it seemed like i was trying to say you are wrong

@lakergoy Thanks, but I really don't need condolence over my loss as it was 20 years ago and I was 9. The hurt did stink, and likely made me question humanity. I won't detail anymore, I will if asked, but I really don't feel the humanity of this discussion can be reflected by someone focusing on politics. I get it's political. So if I'm of a like mind of what many liberals might find in attitude/idea about punitive justice, and you detail them as PC - I am supposed to feel what? Maybe take away the idea of PC here?

Success is sweet but revenge is delicious

@SW-User hahahaha
psikeo · 31-35, M
sometimes, but not usually

I don't see how.
Revenge burns a person who has already been victimised. Is the end satisfaction of a revenge ever worth it? I am not convinced.

@yondu And so we get trapped in our own minds victimising ourselves further.

Deuteronomy 19:19-21 then do to the false witness as that witness intended to do Show no pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot & blood for blood .
No, rather it is multiplication to the sin.

@sspec how ?
@TechniCoIorBroccoli coz it is the fact. Revenge just mars, never makes anyone involved.
Cheers!

Justice =eye for an eye 🤔

No it's petty and ugly in the end, but understandable sometimes why some seek it

Retribution
Biffed · 26-30, M
@SW-User you have a problem with me?
SW-User
@Biffed I consider retribution wrong in this light... means I have something wrong with you?
Biffed · 26-30, M
@SW-User it's just something I posted. I didn't give a sh!t if it was wrong or right
SW-User

SW-User

SW-User
