Massachusetts is deciding whether or not to legalize gun silencers...
does anyone else think this is a horrible idea??

Silencers aren't a real thing. Suppressors are. They don't silence the gun or really even come close to it, most applications for them are just to reduce risk of hearing loss and improve overall comfort at the range and home-ranges. Those loud bangs can really hurt your ears.
The offensive applications for suppressors are really only military ones, as its main benefit in combat is that it disperses the noise in a much less focused cone, making it harder to locate the shooter amongst the on going chaos of a firefight. Especially useful for coordinated military ambushes. Without camouflage, training and coordinated squad tactics, though, a suppressor isn't gonna do much other than make your gun a little bit more quiet.

Oh that must be it. Makes sense.I guarantee you've never used a silencer, and have no idea what purpose may be behind them. And here you are casting opinions on something you most likely know nothing about. But excuse me while I bend over.

Hmm, makes crimes easier to commit and harder to detect..BUT if killings DO happen, at least you can enjoy your breakfast in peace. I'm sure police won't mind gangs walking around with silent weapons -_-

Honestly... I would probably shoot more at the range if we could use silencers.
Movies have glorified them. I don't think there will be a rash of murders if they are legalized.

@RealMustangGuy I shoot guns every Tuesday...I use very effective ear protectors...ther are optins. I don't give a rats ass about anyone's ears ..there are options...these things are not yet in the hands of criminals but they will be...people who get shot will die when they might have had a chance after the neighbors HEARD the shots and called the police...I think ya'll's testosterone is muddling your brains...just about every "yay"opinion here is male...no surprise there

@Fernie suppressors don't make guns any more or less dangerous if they are in the wrong hands . They are cumbersome and a bit unwieldy ... but if you soak them first they are virtually silent . Your knee jerk libtard responses are so typical of your ilk ... your mind kicks in 10 minutes after your mouth shuts up ! 🙄. I don't give a rats ass that you don't like suppressors, they are here to stay , just like the guns .
We have several and they are fun and a novelty , as well as a courtesy to our neighbors at the farm when we want to go shooting .

@Fernie I don't understand the male reference to your reply to me. We all have ears. I don't own any suppressors and don't plan to own any. I only replied to answer @bijouxbroussard's question about them. But I have been around them and my experience is that they are not silent or close to it. Whether someone uses one or not, people will hear the shots. That's all I was trying to say, that they are not silent. I'm sorry that you took offense by my reply. That was never my intention.
