Marriage is pretty old-fashioned. In a society where women are becoming equal, fewer would want/need to get married. And that's a good thing. Who wants to live in a society where one gender ends up bound to another human not for love, but just to have some measure of equality in terms of earning power and rights?

I believe that people will be given in marriage until the end of time. Only a few will be faithful to one another, and that is a sacred concept in my opinion. Christians will still uphold marriage I believe. Because marriage is an institution implemented by God.

Who knows. But if it did become obsolete it would be for the best. I'd rather a society of people who are happily single or (even in a relationship) than of people in marriages they don't even want cuz "that's normal"

It's possible. In the U.S. that will mean changing a lot of the laws around healthcare, inheritance and property ownership. And only gays and lesbians will be legally married.
