Can somebody like being single but envy couples at the same time or impossible?

I'm having mixed feelings right now. I enjoy my single life but when I see couples and them missing and holding hands, I get uncomfortable or bitter. Don't get me wrong I'm happy for them but still. I just got out of an abusive relationship two months ago.

It's perfectly natural to want the closeness that couples enjoy, but also to enjoy your own company. It is possible to want space and closeness.

@LukeOnTheInternet: Yeah I do enjoy my own company. At least I don't have a man to tell me where and when I need to be home. No screaming kids

Maybe coming out an abusive relationship makes you envious of couples who seem to have it all together? Give yourself time.
