Does it mean anything when a guy comes back into your work and starts talking to you?

long story short this regular used to come in a lot, was really chatty and friendly towards and i ended up really liking him and thought he felt the same way. the last time he came in he told me he had a gf and was really pensive, not his usual self. after that he stopped coming in for like a month and it hurt me really badly not only that but because i liked him and thought he felt the same only to find out he was taken. i finally started accepting the fact that i won’t ever see him again and was starting to get over him. then just last week he came in and the first thing he said was long time no see i felt numb for a second and confused, he started talking to me and kept on looking at me. my manager asked him why it took him a long time and he just said he was on a budget, she made a comment that she thinks he’s single again because he was scruffy. anyway i didn’t think he’d come in again and that it only a one time thing and then today he came again, and asked me how my weekend, how swimming was, and what my favorite part of my weekend was which i thought was random and weird but yeah anyway. it’s hard seeing him and trying to fall for him, especially when idk his relationship status.. but does it mean anything?
