Would you reconsider dating someone

Who leaves the house at midnight to run away from a hailstorm, so that it would not hail on his car? He left me and my daughter at the house to protect his car. My daughter was scared of the storm. I spent the evening consoling her. For some reason I felt abandoned by my boyfriend. Normally a decent guy. I’m kinda embarrassed to be asking this question.

Does he live there? Sounds like he didn't want to sacrifice his car when he didn't have to. Hail damage is permanent.

We’ve been together 5 years. I found this odd behavior. He’s always wanted to put run a Tornado after watching tornado videos storm chasers. So he may be smart but thinks quirky things like this. He’s likeable but this quirky thoughts and actions really kinda freak me out and worry me. @abe182

@Mindful asking him to sacrifice his car is odd behavior. Driving in tornadoes is odd behavior. But I thing last night wasn't odd behavior unless a to tornado came and put you in harm then that would have been very selfish.

All that you say is true. I I think it was all an unknown considering the level of threat for this storm. It was all very odd to me. It took me my surprise that he left, and as I talk it out here, I’m realizing that there are other things that upset me more.so this is just a splinter added to something bigger.@abe182

@Mindful Thanks Abe, for responding. It’s important to know other people’s point of view so that I am aware of my own reactions as well as his. He and I talked and he had taken. 3 Advil at bedtime and simply woke up thinking about me being safe and following advice he had gotten that day on how to save his car from hail damage:park at a car wash bay.
