Could you change who you are to please another?

SW-User
I hope I've learned my lesson on that and don't ever do it again.

Working on character flaws is one thing...a necessary and beneficial thing, regardless of whether you're in a relationship. But changing what is you at the core.... what drives you and you're passionate about... changing that for someone only makes you lose yourself, and usually neither person is happy with the results.

That would make me their slave, and I wont do that.
dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
Tried that and it was a terrible idea.
I have. Never again
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
No. Nor should you.
No. I can be more loving, but I will never lose me again in a relationship. I made a promise to myself. Others need to evolve more. I am presently evolving very well.

Not anymore, I guess you get to an age where you realise you are what you are and will always revert to type.

If I could it wouldn't last because the stress of trying to be something other than me would get tiring.
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
I could, but I have no desire to. I've lost my taste for wearing masks as a daily aspect of life.
No. I will not compromise myself and my being for another.

@Elandra77 didn't think you would.
Nope...that person either likes who I am...or they can walk away

Effloresce · 26-30, F
I don’t think so
Elegy · 46-50
Didn't work.
DDonde · 31-35, M
I don't think I could. I would just be pretending the entire time.
