Are you unable to allow a romantic partner to make extravagant purchases for you?

e.g. pay for a fancy dinner, a car or home, student loan debt

I wouldn't be against it unless it put a huge stress on our finances. But if we could afford it, I'd accept what ever was purchased. My wife and I actually had a discussion about this a few weeks ago. We are using that money so I can stay home and take care of her.

I seriously struggle with that. 1) I make more 2) I have to trust that person cares for me from their heart and feels a certain respect and generosity of heart
So I generally don’t accept especially if I can’t reciprocate freely

Generally no, I don't want to receive more than I could give. If we were both well off financially and I knew we could both afford it, I wouldn't mind, though.

I haven't ever had someone want to or offer anything like this but I am used to taking care of my own needs at this point

I mean, they can if they want to, but don't expect much more than my time and effort in return.

I rather do this myself but its nice to be gifted once in awhile
