If we lived to 200, could you stay married for 175 years?

To the right person yes, of course.. There's many who say people aren't naturally monogamous.. I can poly easily but I do think in terms women, generally speaking lots of short lived relationships without a main enduring one, tend to be less satisfying emotionally and can be associated with a lot of break ups, hurt and eventually a mistrust leading to living alone in preference to even short lived relationships.. These are just opinions of course and very generalised.
In an ideal world a relationship of 175 would deepen and allow for more experimentation, perhaps of introducing other lovers and/or an open relationship

Yet a tiny percentage of people remain monogamous for even 40 years. Can a system that almost always fails really be the best one?. @Adaydreambeliever

@AnneHoney wellll I never said everyone... for some marrying at all doesn't work, for some marrying for 10 years doesn't work.. I would argue that it's a tiny percent who remain monogamous.. I think it's more.. although less now than in the past and we'd have to examine why that is.. people being shallower, having unrealistic expectations and really not working at marriage.. etc..
and in many ways that wasn't the question.. you asked remain married for 175 years... it was 'I' who brought up the subject of open marriages and introducing other lovers into the relationship... so I didn't really mean that it had to be monogamous - it may be but not necessarily..
I am a fan of poly as I say.. but the truth is that it doesn't work for everyone, indeed most it doesn't suit as they don't know how to play the game safely and without hurting others..
My other point was though that it tends to be women who feel hurt when a relationship ends.. or can be.. So my worry with lots of shorter term relationships is that it tends to work less well for women compared to men..
