How long should someone be engaged before they marry?

@SW-User It's possible to get to know a person before getting engaged... which is probably a good idea.

@JustLikeGreta You mean the actual ceremony? I would probably agree. When my sister got married she had a rather large wedding. A big part of it was that we have a lot of family that's scattered all over the place. Since it was a rare chance for everyone to come together, they made sure it was a nice event.
