I Don't Want Kids

I really hate when people ask me why I don’t want kids. You never hear others asking people who want children why they wish to have them.

But it’s a question I will inevitably always get. So at this point, why not have some fun?

I’m my parent’s only child, so I have now made it my personal job to respond to that question with:

“This bloodline dies with me”

I don't want kids either! I like to use the excuse that I carry genes for muscular dystrophy and do not want to spread it.

Schizophrenia runs in my family, along with a shit ton of other mental illnesses.

My mom suffers from schizophrenia, so that automatically increases my chances of developing it.

I don’t want any child of mine having to deal with that, even if the chances are unlikely.

@KatherineR how old are you? How old was your mom when she was diagnosed? Because, good news! As a general rule, the older a person is at the onset of symptoms the better the prognosis.

Anyway the real reason I don't want kids is because I don't want kids.

You see that’s where you could possibly be wrong.

Many people like the stupid argument of “You could give birth to the next Einstein”

And although that could be potentially true, take in mind.

I could also give birth to the next hitler.

Either way, it’s naive of you to believe I will change my mind over night because a random stranger on the internet told me so.
I don’t like children, I don’t want children, my fiancé doesn’t either. I won’t have a child to please others.
