I Am Interested In Politics

Well, he's won. I won't go on about Canada - could move there pretty easily but I won't abandon those who are about to need me here. And won't revolt, democracy is democracy. But I am very afraid for those I love, like, some whom I don't even know.

I won't get into all the things that horrify me about this election. Just want to reach out to those of you who are likely more terrified than me - non-Christian, gay, women depending on PP and RvW, latin American, black, those fearing for our environment, those about to be crushed by our upcoming economic nose dive, Japan, the sick, the active soldiers, our allies in Europe and the Middle East. I just want to tell you that it's going to be ok, and we're not going to abandon you now that this election is over. That you are loved, treasured, and that we will stand by you. The election was so insanely close (Must. Not. Yell. At those who voted third party or the 59℅ of Americans who stayed home..) and for every red-coat you hear cheering on here, every foam-mouthed trumper calling you terrible names and threatening you, one of us will be there to stand by you. And we'll fight and protest every law they try to pass that would bring you down. We've gone back several decades last night but it's ok. We've marched for women's rights and race equality and freedom of religion before, we will again - and this time we've seen that an equal world can exist, so it's not just a dream.

There are about to be a bunch of ignorant people on here whooping and hollering like cheerful kids proud that they started a bonfire in the livingroom, ignore them. Play time is over, time to cowboy up and get to work, and there is about to be a lot of work

Yup, also this gives me some hope that this nation's morality will return:

Vote of those 18-25, our next generations. We just have to hold the line for them to get here, so we can look them all in the eye and promise we did our best

You always have the option to move to Toronto, and then conduct cross-border operations :)

Very tempting, have passport, and have a job offer waiting for me. But I won't abandon my friends here, or (if Canada limits immigration) take up one of the spots of those who will need it. But oh so soo tempting..
