I Am Interested In Politics

The net is tightening around Trump. Pelosi, like a cautious general, has been patiently moving her troops into position for the attack. The Democrats have to do impeachment carefully. The Democrats control the House but the Republicans control the Senate. Democrats have to be sure as they can, that Senate Republicans are likely to support impeachment. But now with Trump's actions with the Ukraine, the moment for the battle has arrived.

@SeriouslyFlippant I don't think it's political pressure. I think her hand was forced. Trump made a blatant act, coming after many others, in which he seems to believe he's above the law and bigger than the Constitution. EVERY American should understand that there are some things much bigger than party affiliation. Not everything is political. This is about precedent which applies now and in the future - irrespective of who is in office. Some times you have to put country over politics. I think this situation demands that.

You make the right point about the GOP. The only thing I can surmise is that there's more to this than we know and enough Senate Republicans have expressed, behind closed doors, they're in support of impeachment. What I know for sure is that the Democrats sure as hell better position this as what it is...a battle to protect the Constitution and the country irrespective of the potential political fallout. They need to reclaim "patriotism."

It takes a 2/3rds vote of the Senate to impeach. Pelosi is acting because she's been talking with Senate Republicans and believes there is enough support among them for a vote to impeach.

@ExperienceDLT So I guess that all the polls out now showing every legit Democratic candidate beating Trump by a large margin is just "fake news," right? And come on now. He lost at the polls last time, didn't he?
But yeah. You're not a Trump fan, right? To say that those standing up for the Constituion are "desperate" is a really good indicator of that. Guess the WH withholding the LEGAL whistle blower complaint is proof of innocence, right? Just like they took the Mueller report as him being 'innocent' despite Mueller saying the contrary.
And you might want to look in to what impeachment means. I think it's something different than you think it is.
Whatever dude. You're choosing to not acknowledge the truth. So...I'm done. I'm flat out of patience. Have a good one.
