I Hate When People Pressure Me

My dad is doing it again. He's pressuring me to take classes online for web design which I have no interest in doing! I'm a performer! That's what I want to do but I can't do it because of where I live and I cannot afford to move. Just because you're good at something doesn't mean you like it. It doesn't mean you have to pursue it. I told him I will look into it just to get him off my back. I'm just sick of the pressure for him to be what he wants me to be instead of what I want to be.

@4everman: Film with a theatre minor. So I am basically screwed. Even I heard my mom admit to relatives that I will never do what I truly want for as long as I live where I am. That I would have to live in a city but it's all about money which I do not have enough of. If it was up to them, they would want me to find a new dream. They believe follow your dream until it doesn't work out and then find a new dream. I refuse to give up all for the sake of good pay. Money will always be temporary no matter how much of it you have.

Then do what it takes to earn enough to go follow the dream. Whether you enjoy or like the work you do now to help you pursue your dream is less important than the dream.

@4everman: I know what you mean. I just have to like the work. If I don't, I perform poorly. I could tell my parents all I want about how I feel but they don't listen and I end up crying in my room by the end of the fight. It's always the same.

MOST performers have day jobs.

No one does web design as a little day job. It's for people who want to do it as a career and who are passionate about it.
